You are worthy!

Last weekend, I went to a pilgrimage. Two things happened there:

1. This pilgrimage that I am talking about is one of the most famous ones in Southern Indian surroundings. People on certain days turn up in millions at this place. They form snake-like lines of extensive lengths to go see the God behind the doors. This file of people after being in a slow treading line finally will start praying to God for their own respective lives(maybe of their relatives too). We(as an individual, in this context) are important when it comes to our family circle. Family and ourselves, presumably, pray for us and family can also give its life's worth when it is an absolute necessity. The importance of us to our related is more than the whole world. My grandmother would pray for her daughter's cousin-sister's son to get high grades in his class(it may sound ridiculous, but it's true). But for how much far off the family tree can my grandmother pray? Not more than 50-100 people at max (for, my grandma is an absolute genius that she knows such kind of intricate details about each of them).

2. To go to this holy place, it takes one to drive up and then drive down through two mountains having a hydraulic dam in between. This dam is located in a valley tucked in between two magnificent mountains. These two mountain's surface,  being a spectacle to watch, were laid by these curvy mountain roads that awfully allow us to drive at a pace less than the cyclist speed. Brakes become so important that sometimes it feels like the accelerator and brake paddle should shift their places, such is the intensity of braking. We sluggishly drove through the first mountain and crossed the dam. We found a spot when we are advancing onto the second mountain. We have stopped there to enjoy the view of the Dam and the mountains. The visual spectacle is astounding and then, I recognized these ants like cars treading over the opposite mountain road as if they are finding the way home back into the anthill. At least the cars looked like ants, but the ant-driver is too small to be visible. I cannot see the driver clearly, for he is too far and significantly small.

The first time when I saw the mountain with these slow treading cars all I can see is the big picture. As such, I saw the grandiose mountains and also least visible cars but not the life behind the wheel. Then I found myself thinking how insignificant had been a single human life behind the wheel when we compare it to a grand ecosystem of the mountain itself? Then this thinking spiraled me into thinking what is the meaning of the existence of a particular human being when we as an individual doesn't contribute a whole lot? This definitely made my mood, on the trip, go down, such is the topic that I was thinking about. But then I thought to myself why would one want to live? Does it really matter for everyone to see the grand picture in every moment of their life? Yes, life doesn't matter when we see it on such a grand scale. But if we consider again about happiness, which could be considered as a prime factor for an individual, small things like climbing and experiencing mountaintop would be considered content enough. It is, I think, enough for an individual when they find happiness in little things of life

But this intuition didn't convince me enough on why would an individual want to live. Then, it so happened that I thought about the 'survival of the fittest.' In a country of more than a billion people, India, or an office with a negligible thousand people; how many of them will really care if you exist or not exist? For a company the thousand people together are really important, you can't appreciate just a single star in a sky full of stars. The significance of a single person in a group of thousand doesn't mean much until they have a great deal of experience and Ideation. By the 'survival of the fittest' I did not mean to say the person with greatest wit and knowledge survives, but what I meant is that people try to compete every day to gather recognition and fame. So that they become the topic of an organization or at least in a thousand people. I reckon the other reason why people want to live is that they never want to die; That is, they want to live forever in the minds of people (read Living Dead to know more on this).

My friend and author Ajet says that it doesn't matter how much ever impact we show by showing ourselves to the world. Because the influence that we may show would just show an impact for a maximum of another 1000 years. And 1000 years in the life of the universe is not more than super negligible. I mostly agree with what he says (Read Purpose of Life to know more), but one thing I disagree the most, mostly big one, as we have born I feel a compulsion to make the most of it. For, there is no other way that I can have my life back. So, I don't want to squander it.

The unstoppable quench of an individual to become unique among the 7 billion people is what, I think, drives humanity to better themselves. Though it is true that, if an alien species visit planet earth and takes a survey on how people fare; It is obvious that they look people and world as a whole rather than individually. But, it doesn't mean we ignore the fact that people together develop, with the ideas being developed by individuals.

Comment down your thoughts too. Really value what you think.
