The Ungodly Belief
I always like to sit on the left side column seats of the bus and that too towards any one of the window seats of that column. This particular position is one of the little pleasures that I like to enjoy in my life whenever possible. Yesterday, like daily, I had boarded the bus to go to the office from my house and guess what, I got my pleasure points satisfied. Like all the other days the bus conductor (For those Non-Indian readers unaware of Bus conductors, they are the ones who charge us the fare for traveling in the bus) has come to charge me for the ride and I gave him the respective cash. The moment he went away I started enjoying sitting in the window seat and peeking through the window into the fascinating world that we built (Also sometimes 'fascinating world' being nothing better than disgusting). But, I guess because of the mood that I am in, I started to think about the paper that I handed over to the conductor.
The modern idea of money is around us for at least 3000 years, before which people used barter system(Exchange of goods for other goods). Money then, which was used in ancient times, was made like coins out of precious metals like gold, silver etc. These coins actually used to carry the value of the material itself as they are precious and rare. Things changed gradually and in the modern age, we use notes that have values printed on them which are considered to be the value of the note. But the modern note is made of paper and the paper itself costs way less than the value that is given to it.
As I was thinking through I found another thought seeping into my brain. The creation of God( As we know it) by us was at least 4000 years ago. People say that God is the savior from the sins that we do. This savior is named differently in different communities like Jesus, Allah, Vishnu etc. These religious gods are with us for all these years and may well continue to be.
It had been quite a long time since we started carrying Money and God as two different yet very important schools of thought in life. They are two completely different subjects which are meant to have specific functionalities that are helpful. Though they both seem very disparate, they both seem to have something in common. Something that is very fundamental to both schools of thought and very primitive for the existence of God and Money. The fundamental and unanimous 'belief' in these two systems is the thing that is making them exist and blossom. There would be no such thing as Money if people didn't believe in a note that costs a dime( for its physical value) would have a face value many folds greater than its physical value. When it comes to the point of God belief is very strong and it is made stronger using stories and epic tales.
To have a belief is nothing bad. We, as curious humans, have been in the race of discovering the next big thing. To do this, it is important for each person to focus on the work through which they would want to contribute to the betterment of the society and leave the rest to his values and beliefs that he was raised upon. Not every person is capable of thinking about all the problems in the world. It is important that we get just a little perspective on all the other problems and try working on only the problem that interests them, giving their best shot at what they have at hand. Being in a society, beliefs are therefore important.
But, my problem with belief is that there are some cases where the belief goes extreme and haywire. Some people take some of the beliefs to the level which does not make any societal sense, rather have an erratic, egocentric, vicious intent for personal (personal being an organization or a person) benefits. Let us take the previous example of money and god, both of them very important to society. They help run organizations and institutions just because of this immense belief that people have on these entities.

Money being the exchange factor for the material goods that we crave for, it no longer serves its purpose for the general public. For the most of it is with just a fraction of population, when one turns out to be a fraud and runs away with the money, as in the case of ENRON (company), Bernie Madoff scandal the losses are unnervingly high. It is just that money when we think about it is nothing more than a fragment of our imagination.

Matters turn out more red and grim when it comes to God. There are so many organizations that use religion as their cover page to cover up the greed and personal benefit that they viciously conceal. Many terrorist organizations like ISIS, Al-Qaeda cover up the fact that they kill thousands of people just under the name of god. Why is that an unconditional loving soul(As they say it), who doesn't have a bias towards any one particular "organization" would want the "organization" to kill people? Though the question is rhetorical, It begs for the analysis of the answer.
While I am not suggesting to believe or not to believe in God. It's people's personal preference. It is definitely maniacal to not to believe in money, but all I want to say is that there are always extremities that would make life harder and sometimes makes lives to vanish altogether. It is the responsibility of us rational beings to understand and comprehend till which extent a belief doesn't become ungodly.
